Academic Background
Tsampikos Sam Georgallis is a Registered Clinical Psychologist in Cyprus (Reg. Number: 672, Cyprus Psychologists Registration Board). He graduated with Highest Distinction (Summa Cum Laude) from European University Cyprus with a BA(Hons) in Psychology. He went on to earn an MSc in Health Psychology with Merit from the University of Southampton (UK), followed by an MSc in Clinical Psychology with Highest Distinction (Summa Cum Laude) from European University Cyprus. During his academic journey, he also completed a portion of his studies at the University of Turin in Italy.
His exceptional academic performance has been recognized with numerous scholarships and commendations, including an Award of Academic Excellence from the Cyprus Psychologists Association (2011). Furthermore, he pursued advanced research training at the University of Southampton (UK), where he investigated a novel cognitive therapy for managing chronic musculoskeletal pain in adults.
Clinical Training
His comprehensive training in psychology and clinical practice includes providing individual and group psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults, as well as administering specialized psychometric instruments. Committed to lifelong learning, Tsampikos Sam has completed an extensive array of professional development programs through various international institutes across Europe and Australia.
During his supervised clinical practicum abroad, he collaborated with the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinics of the Mental Health Services in Collegno and Pinerolo (Northern Turin, Italy; Azienda Sanitaria Locale di Collegno e Pinerolo). There, he supported youth facing a spectrum of psychological, psychopathological, and psychiatric challenges. His vital work extended to children and adolescents under state care, where he conducted parental psychological evaluations for sensitive court cases involving abuse and neglect. Additionally, his clinical training in Italy included assessing the parental fitness of prospective adoptive parents.
During his supervised clinical practicum in Cyprus, he collaborated with a Limassol-based family and youth counseling center, providing individual and group psychological therapy to a diverse demographic of children, adolescents, adults, and families. On a national level, he has implemented psychoeducational programs across kindergarten, primary, and secondary schools, and facilitated experiential workshops aimed at preventing bullying among primary school students. Concurrently, he collaborated with public and private educational institutions to deliver lectures empowering teachers to manage prevalent student psychological challenges. As a trainee at a Nicosia counseling center, he provided individual support and conducted clinical psychodiagnostic assessments in university students. Throughout his career, engaging in both voluntary and professional capacities, he has contributed to a diverse array of institutions. Internationally, he collaborated with the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinics in Collegno and Pinerolo, Italy. Upon returning to Cyprus, his professional footprint expanded to include geriatric care through an organization providing neuropsychological services for the elderly.
Additionally, in the realm of child welfare, he partnered with an agency dedicated to assessing the fitness of foster parents, alongside an organization offering psychological support to minors under state guardianship. Furthermore, his multidisciplinary expertise has been utilized in the broader healthcare and academic sectors, having worked with a prominent healthcare services provider and serving as a Special Scientist at the University of Cyprus Medical School.
Current Practice
Presently, Tsampikos Sam is advancing his academic journey as a doctoral student with a full scholarship, dedicating his research to the critical study of suicidality among young adults. Concurrently, he maintains an active clinical practice, providing comprehensive psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults across Limassol and Paphos.
